The Community Relations department for Denton State Supported Living Center (DSSLC) is currently composed of 3 staff:
Melissa Bradley, Director of Community Relations
Jennifer Matusik, Assistant Director of Community Relations
Stephanie Cormier, Interim Administrative Assistant
Melissa Bradley, Director of Community Relations, started her career with DSSLC 28 years ago as the Assistant Director of Volunteer Services. Melissa has been the Director for the last 16 years. Ms. Bradley, originally from Louisiana, received her B.S. in Fashion Merchandising from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ms. Bradley’s professional career has spanned from modeling to fundraising. Her current position focused strictly on raising awareness and securing funds for people with special needs. Melissa feels this is her true calling and has proven so through longevitiy and loyalty.
Jennifer Matusik, the Assistand Director of Community Relations, has been with the DSSLC for 2 years. She started her career working directly with residents but decided to move into a position that would better benefit and enhance the lives of the people who live at the Living Center. In under a year's time, Jennifer advanced into the Asst. Director role which allows her to write grants on behalf of the Volunteer Service Council Board (a 501c3 entity) to obtain funding for projects around campus that are not covered by the State of Texas. A second important role performed by Ms. Matusik that enhances the lives of the residents is the recruitment and coordination of volunteers.
Jennifer has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology degree from University of Phoenix while living in Istanbul, Turkey. Just recently she has achieved a Masters of Science in Criminal Justice w/specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from Saint Joseph's University in Philedelphia, PA.
Administrative Assistant role is currently being filled; however, we have an interim Admin, Stephanie, who is available to assist you with any questions, concerns, donations, etc..
