Many "teams" return annually to assist us with phone calls at the KRLD phone bank. These volunteers enjoy answering the calls from all the wonderful KRLD listeners but love the purpose of being there to take the calls - helping the people at DSSLC have an extraordinary Christmas each year! DSSLC is very blessed to have such wonderful friends in the DFW Metroplex!
The Staff at DSSLC would like to offer a big "Thank You!" to KRLD, its listeners, and all of our volunteers who have been instrumental in making wonderful things happen for the residents of DSSLC year after year!!!

Christmas is a special time for the residents at DSSLC and each year the Community Relations Department with the Volunteer Services Council commit to making their Christmas wishes come true. We cannot do this alone so instead we rely on the generosity of organizations, churches, businesses, and individuals to make the wish lists become a reality. KRLD and its dedicated listeners have loyally assisted DSSLC and the VSC in reaching its goal each year; that goal is simply to provide the people who live at DSSLC with a holiday of gifts, cheer, and laughter.
The individuals’ wishes are not elaborate; they consist of items such as a watch, new comforters, a new CD, maybe a flashlight, or even slippers. Just like you and I, Christmas harvests special memories each New Year as we wake on Christmas morning to breakfast with our families and gifts under the trees! As you are reading this letter you may be asking yourself, “How can I help make these memories happen?”
If you are considering DSSLC as your charity this holiday season, here's what you can do: email Volunteer Services for a list of pre-selected gift wishes, purchase and wrap gifts based on the generic list on the "donations" tab on this website or you are welcome to send a monetary donation to apply towards the purchase of gifts.

This holiday season we also has another way to donate: GIVE BY CELL!
If you would like to donate in a hurry, all you have to do is text "CIFC" to 20222. This mobile texting capability only allows $10 donations per text.
Here's how it works: When you text "CIFC" to 20222, your cell phone carrier will place the $10 donation on your next phone bill. Each carrier is different in the number of times you can text a donation though. We have been told the max will be 3 times a month for most carriers. Either way.....now you can text on the go!
